Eastlake High School Student advocates for new state law in Olympia

EHS student Armaan Chandnani w/ Governor Ferguson

Eastlake High School freshman Armaan Chandnani recently played an active role in advocating for Washington State House Bill 1875, a new law that allows workers to use paid sick leave to attend or prepare for immigration proceedings for themselves or their family members.

“Speaking with numerous legislators throughout the process has been a great experience,” said Armaan about the work he did advocating for the bill.

Armaan participated in lobbying efforts, met with legislators and attended the bill’s signing ceremony in Olympia. Along the way, Armaan was noted for his dedication to civic engagement and social advocacy.
