Community Service Program

WHAT is the EHS Community Service Program?

Eastlake High School values community service and thus recognizes students for their service and volunteer contributions through the Community Service Graduation Honor Cord and the Community Service Spotlight, supported by EHS and the EHS PTSA. Throughout their time at EHS, students should keep track of their service hours completed through the many EHS service clubs (such as National Honor Society and Key Club) and any community service completed on their own. During senior year, if students have completed 200+ service hours during their years at EHS, they will be able report their cumulative service hours and receive the Community Service Graduation Honor Cord. The EHS PTSA also highlights student volunteer activities in their newsletter and social media through the Community Service Spotlight and will invite submissions of student service stories throughout the year in their Wolf Tracks newsletter.

What is the significance of the Community Service Honor Cord?
Silver Honor cord

Seniors can receive a community service award and honor cord for completing at least 200 service hours during their time at Eastlake. The silver Community Service Graduation Honor Cord demonstrates that the student made community service a priority during their high school career.

Note that some clubs have their own service requirements, but all service hours at EHS and in the community count towards the EHS Community Service Graduation Honor Cord.
