UPDATED July 20, 2020
AP Art students in AP Drawing, AP 2D Art and Design, and AP 3D Art and Design:
- There are no summer projects assigned for Summer 2020
- Homework for the summer is to go to the AP Studio Art website and exploring the course information, rubrics, and sample portfolios:
AP Drawing - https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-drawing
AP 2D Art and Design - https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-2-d-art-and-design/course
AP 3D Art and Design - https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-3-d-art-and-design/course
- All AP Art students are strongly encouraged to work in an art journal or sketchbook over the summer, and update it at least once a week with something creative. That could be sketches, project ideas, notes, inspirations, research questions, etc. Bring your sketchbook to show on the first day of school.
- Lastly, this upcoming year in AP you will be engaging in what is called a Sustained Investigation – an inquiry based artmaking journey. For this, you will need to develop a question you wish to explore through a portfolio of work. Start to consider topics and questions for your inquiry – make a brainstorm list and bring it with you to class on the first day of school. You should NOT commit to any specific idea for your sustained investigation yet though – keep yourself open to possibilities as we begin class in the fall.
